In light of concerns the Coronavirus, I want to share how Complete Care at Havens is working with public health officials and taking appropriate steps to keep our patients, visitors, clinicians and employees healthy.
First, Complete Care at Havens continues to receive ongoing guidance from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization, which are closely monitoring the national and global situation as it evolves.
The best way to prevent infection of COVID-19 or other viruses like seasonal flu is to avoid exposure. The CDC recommends these everyday actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses:
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve, not your hands.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid close contact with others if you are sick. (i.e. Stay home from work.)
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- While there is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19, seasonal flu is widespread in New Jersey and the best action you can take is to get vaccinated. It’s not too late to be protected.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
As per State of Emergency in NJ and consultation with our Medical Directors, due to the Coronavirus, Complete Care at Havens has implemented a the following policies below:
- At this time we respectfully must establish a “NO VISITATION POLICY” to ensure that our vulnerable residents don’t receive any cross-exposure to the virus.
- In addition we will cancel till the end of the month all non-essential services i.e. Dental, vision, podiatry, entertainers etc. to lower our residents exposure as well.
- We will reschedule most non-essential Doctor visits and consultations out of the facility.
- We respectfully ask our families to refrain from taking residents “Out on Pass” during this emergency as to protect them and the population upon return.
Working together, we can help to reduce the spread of illnesses among our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
